Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLEThe Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing on-site repairs, inspections, and maintenance of building products while ensuring safety, quality, and excellent customer service. This role provides hands-on experience in field operations, process adherence, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to delivering reliable service in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.WHAT YOU'LL DO- Field Repairs & Adjustments: Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements, operational adjustments, and product inspections.- Product Evaluations & Inspections: Conduct on-site evaluations to assess product performance and identify repair needs.- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of glass, working at heights, and use of PPE; maintain and inspect safety equipment and first aid kits.- Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate company vehicles safely, adhering to local laws, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.- Inventory Management: Manage tools and supplies inventory to maintain proper stock and organization.- Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair issues and solutions, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.- Travel: Travel within assigned territory daily; overnight travel may be required depending on territory.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete precise repairs and inspections.- Excellent customer service skills to build trust and ensure repeat business.- Physical stamina and dexterity; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently, climb ladders, and work at heights.- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.- Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to safety and quality.WHAT YOU'LL NEED- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.- License: Valid driver's license with ability to successfully clear an MVR check.- Experience:- 1-2 years of general construction or building material installation experience preferred.- 1-2 years of fenestration manufacturing or installation experience preferred.- Technical Skills:- Basic computer skills (Outlook & CRM).- Proficiency with hand and power tools.Basic computer skills (Outlook & CRM).Proficiency with hand and power tools.Additional InformationWhy work for Cornerstone Building Brands?Our teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
