You'll work with a co-teacherproviding daily communication to parents and assisting in theclassroom's maintenance to ensure a healthy, safe, nurturingenvironment that is child-centered and positive. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide qualitycare to children: Full responsibility for the health, safety and welfareof all children within the assigned group to include but not limited tofeeding, napping, toileting, changing diapers, lifting children, gettingdown to child's level, and sitting on the floor with children. Handleall aspects of food preparation including clean-up of dishes, tables,and floor areas. This includes preparing bottles for infants. Providesupervision and guide behavior. Plan daily and weekly individual andgroup activities that are developmentally appropriate for childrenwithin an environment that allows and encourages choices for children.(e.g. large motor activities, outdoor activities). Complete and maintainrecords including, but not limited to, attendance records, observations,lesson plans, assessments, portfolios and child whereabouts. 2. Providea healthy and safe environment: Keep children within sight and sound atall times. Maintain a classroom tone that is positive, non-stressed andof mutual respect for the child and co-workers. Look for signs ofillness or communicable disease that would prevent a child fromremaining in care and bring it to director(s) attention. Report allsuspected cases of child abuse including sexual abuse, neglect,emotional or physical abuse to the Director or Assistant DirectorComplete and maintain medical forms and accident report forms. 3. Workwith co-teachers and leaders: Communicate effectively with co-teachersand directors. Share classroom responsibilities and room duties tomaintain a clean and organized classroom environment. Assignresponsibilities to student staff. 4. Work with families: Communicatewith parents regarding a variety of issues including daily activitiesand general concerns of the child. Keep connected with parents viaclassroom cell phone. Participate in parent/teacher conferences,scheduled twice per year. 5. Participate in state required training,including mandated reporter, abusive head trauma, CPR and enroll in 15hours of in-service training per year. 6. Attend evening staff meetingsand family events. 7. Perform any and all related duties as required orassigned. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities A high school diploma or equivalent isrequired.
