Ogden Street Buffalo , NY 14210 Certified - Teaching - Art Teacher {ART} Job Number 3300043514 Start Date Open Date 04/23/2026 Closing Date 06/30/2026 ELEMENTARY TEACHER (Art) K-8 Anticipated Openings REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Provide an educational program for students in Art and assist in other school programs as assigned MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Teach students utilizing the course of study adopted by South Buffalo Charter School Board of Trustees + Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school + Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate students and effectively utilize the available time for instruction + Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide differentiated, individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student + Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports and communicate with parents on the individual student's progress + Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems + Perform basic attendance services as required + Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by South Buffalo Charter School and/or self-selected professional growth activities + Create, with assistance from students, a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards and interest centers + Establish and maintain, in cooperation with school administration, standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom + Participate in school-wide curriculum development + Assist other staff members in helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems + Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Director's designee EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements Credential: NYS Certificate in Art recommended but not required Pay range is $43,430.00 to $81,367.14 based on years of service.
