Description: WHAT WE'RE DOING Rotary and Mission Systems' Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) business is Lockheed Martinu2019s center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions u2014 flying the worldu2019s most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles. TLS is the corporationu2019s hub for simulation, X reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment. THE WORK As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will: u2022 Perform Mechanical Engineering development and design functions in support of Automated Test Equipment u2022 Develop overall Mechanical Designs, including Modeling/Model Based Design, Parts Selection, and supporting drawing documentation u2022 Perform Environmental Analyses (Tip, Thermal, Shock/Vibration) u2022 Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems u2022 Support production environment in researching obsolescence COTS and customer hardware to meet requirements u2022 Design, assessment, troubleshooting of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) u2022 Present design for cross functional peer reviews u2022 Apply site policy and procedures This position will require the selected candidate to have the ability to obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering related discipline u2022 Demonstrated understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical modeling or analysis tools, such as CREO/Solidworks u2022 Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts Desired Skills: u2022 Proficient in Windchill/EPDM u2022 Structural and thermo-structural knowledge and analysis capability is a plus u2022 Prior Automated Test Equipment Experience u2022 Experience with Engineering Change Control processes Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
