Architectural Drafter (Entry-Level) Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter - Entry-Level to support projects from pre-design through construction. This role is ideal for recent architecture graduates who are eager to gain hands-on experience working on real projects, collaborating with consultants, and learning the full lifecycle of architectural design and construction documentation. Youu2019ll work closely with project managers, architects, and construction teams to produce accurate drawings, support permitting efforts, and ensure designs comply with zoning and building codes. What Youu2019ll Do + Perform initial zoning and building code reviews to support project feasibility and early planning + Participate in meetings with clients, owners, and internal project teams to gain exposure to the design process + Create preliminary sketches and concept drawings during the pre-design phase to support budgeting and estimating + Track and document design revisions and updates for comparison against cost estimates + Assist with establishing drawing schedules and managing drafting workloads + Coordinate with outside consultants by obtaining and tracking proposals for: + Civil engineering + Geotechnical borings + Landscape architecture + Represent the company professionally at municipal, zoning, and permitting meetings (with guidance and mentorship) + Collaborate with project managers and superintendents during the construction phase + Prepare and submit building permit applications; track approvals and respond to jurisdictional comments + Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure consistency with design intent and construction documents What Weu2019re Looking For + Bacheloru2019s degree in Architecture, Architectural Studies, Drafting, or a related field + OR Associateu2019s degree with a strong working knowledge of Revit + Entry-level to 2 years of experience (internships and co-ops encouraged) + Working proficiency in: + Revit (required) + AutoCAD + SketchUp + Basic understanding of: + Building codes and zoning regulations + Construction documents and permitting workflows + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills + Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams + Eagerness to learn and grow within an architectural and construction-focused environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
