Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support critical accounting operations in Houston, Texas. This role will play a central part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring the integrity of balance sheet accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure timely completion of all required accounting tasks. u2022 Record and post journal entries with a high degree of accuracy to support routine and adjusting accounting transactions. u2022 Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to confirm completeness, consistency, and compliance with internal standards. u2022 Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and follow up on outstanding items to keep cash records accurate. u2022 Support financial reporting by organizing accounting documentation and providing reliable data for review. u2022 Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve accounting workflows and strengthen day-to-day controls. u2022 Assist with process updates or accounting-related system changes as needed while preserving data accuracy and reporting continuity.
