Why This Role? + Weekdays only - Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM 32 hours per week + No weekends, holidays, overnights, or onu2011call + Specialty practice with meaningful patient interactions + Opportunity to work at the top of your MA skill set + Career growth within UPMC's Medical Assistant ladder Responsibilities: + Manage patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations and maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. + Obtain and process lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information. + Complete necessary forms and schedule appointments. + Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics. + Prepare and manage patient charts. + Perform front office tasks as needed. + Prepare and clean patient rooms and equipment according to protocols. + Maintain inventory and restock supplies. + Organize patient flow and assist patients with various needs. + Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings. + Relay instructions to patients and families. + Answer calls and provide patient education. + Assist physicians with procedures and document patient information. + Comply with regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health) along with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned. + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.
