Description Job Title: Director of Supply Chain Industry: Manufacturing Salary: $145-170k + Bonus Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to lead their manufacturing supply chain operations, with direct oversight of the materials management and purchasing teams. This role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to support production, optimizing inventory and procurement strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and driving operational efficiency across the manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in a plant or multi-site manufacturing setting, along with a proven ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery. Key Responsibilities + Lead the materials management and purchasing teams to support production schedules and business objectives + Develop and execute supply chain strategies that ensure raw materials, components, and indirect supplies are available to meet manufacturing demand + Oversee purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, and vendor performance management + Direct materials planning, inventory control, and replenishment processes to minimize shortages, excess, and obsolescence + Collaborate closely with production, operations, engineering, quality, logistics, and finance to align supply plans with manufacturing requirements + Monitor and improve supplier performance related to on-time delivery, quality, lead times, and cost competitiveness + Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and materials flow, including process standardization and waste reduction + Manage inventory accuracy, cycle count programs, safety stock levels, and warehouse coordination as needed + Support production continuity by proactively identifying supply risks and implementing mitigation plans + Lead S& OP, forecasting, and capacity-related supply planning efforts in partnership with cross-functional teams + Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements + Utilize ERP/MRP systems and reporting tools to improve planning, decision-making, and supply chain visibility Requirements Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred + 8+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment + 3+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing, planning, or materials teams + Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain operations, including MRP, inventory control, production planning support, and supplier management + Demonstrated success with strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and supplier performance improvement + Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing setting + Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills + Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment Preferred Qualifications + APICS/ASCM, CPSM, or CSCP certification + Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma environments + Background supporting multi-site manufacturing operations + Knowledge of domestic and international sourcing practices What Success Looks Like + Reliable material availability that supports on-time production + Improved supplier performance in quality, delivery, and cost + Optimized inventory levels with reduced excess and obsolescence + Strong alignment between supply chain planning and manufacturing operations + Measurable gains in efficiency, continuity, and cost control + A high-performing, accountable materials management and purchasing team Why Join The Team This is a key leadership opportunity for a supply chain professional who wants to make a direct impact on manufacturing performance.
