Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews.**The Lunar Terrain Vehicle - Simulation Software Engineer will:Develop and maintain simulation software for lunar surface operations, including real-time and faster-than-real-time environmentsDesign and implement high-fidelity models of vehicle dynamics, environment, sensors, and system interfacesSupport hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation development, integration, and testingPerform verification and validation (V&V) of simulation models and enable FDIR testing through fault modeling and scenario developmentSupport flight software, ground systems, and mission operations through simulation and test environmentsContribute to crew training and mission readiness through realistic simulation scenariosOwn the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational supportContribute to Agile development cycles, including planning, integration, and verification activitiesIntegrate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team and interface with hardware developers and subsystem engineersProvide technical input during major milestones and program reviewsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Education/Experience/Skills:BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or STEM, from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related software development experienceExperience with simulation frameworks and tools such as Trick, Unreal Engine, or similar simulation environmentsExperience with 6-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation developmentProficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., C/C++)Experience in one or more of the following: spacecraft dynamics, thermal modeling, power systems, RF communications, sensor modeling (e.g., IMUs, star trackers, LIDAR), or GNC integrationExperience with Git-based platforms (e.g., GitLab, GitHub) and development tools (e.g., JIRA)Experience working on cross-disciplinary engineering teamsStrong communication, coordination, and presentation skillsProven ability to collaborate effectively with customers and stakeholdersPreferences:Hardware/software integration experienceExperience supporting human spaceflight or exploration programsFamiliarity with CMMI frameworksExperience with Agile development methodologiesMaster’s degree in a STEM fieldExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana)Essential RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Work may involve sitting for extended periods.May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.Thispositionmayrequiresomecommutingand travelingto other installations as needed.Don’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!Barrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
