The Philadelphia office of Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S News, as one of the “Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms,' is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases and get involved in fact-finding projects. This individual will proactively manage attorney caseloads by being organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping the Firm meet all clients’ needs. Job Duties:Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and meetingsUtilizes existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending casesDrafts discovery demands and responses, including, but not limited to, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection and Requests for AdmissionsProcesses deposition transcriptsPrepares trial and arbitration hearing bindersAssists with drafting documents such as: Motion to Strike, Motion for Continuances, Proposed Orders, Requests for Judicial Notice, Evidentiary Objections, etcAssists with e-filing in State, Federal and Appellate Courts and checks the Court’s local rulesPrepares timelines and demonstrative exhibitsDrafts routine legal correspondencePrepares first set of exhibits for motions, discovery responses, etcReviews outgoing document production, including redacting and Bates stampingCreates Preservation of Evidence Letter and Document Request LettersPerforms legal research through WestLawAssisting with office administration tasksReviews, summarize and analyze medical records to assist with defense of actionOther duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operationsQualifications:Previous law firm experience (4+ years)Litigation experienceExceptional organization skillsExcellent writing and communication skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize workloadTeam orientedProficient in Microsoft Office programsKnowledge of legal terminology and principlesAbility to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracyAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with limited guidanceWhy KD?Uncapped opportunities for career advancementTeam-first culture with open communication and supportImpactful work that drives real client resultsSuccessful candidates will have access to exceptional career development opportunities and a competitive total rewards package, including the potential to earn performance-based bonusesAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment at Kaufman Dolowich without regard to race; creed; color; religion; national origin; sex; age; disability; sexual orientation; gender identity or expression; genetic predisposition or carrier status; veteran, marital, or citizenship status; or any other status protected by law.
