Service Writer (Schenectady, NY) Position Overview seeking a reliable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team in Schenectady, NY. This role acts as the key liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring equipment repair and maintenance needs are accurately documented, communicated, and completed efficiently. Key Responsibilities + Greet customers and assess service needs for outdoor power equipment (lawn mowers, snow blowers, tractors, etc.) + Write clear and detailed service orders, including diagnostics, parts, and labor estimates + Communicate repair timelines, costs, and updates to customers + Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate job completion and workflow efficiency + Order parts and track inventory as needed + Process invoices, payments, and maintain service records + Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service desk environment Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required + Previous experience in a service writer, service advisor, or customer service role preferred + Knowledge of small engine or outdoor power equipment is a strong plus + Strong communication and organizational skills + Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment + Basic computer skills (service software, invoicing systems) + Positive attitude and strong attention to detail Work Environment + Combination of front desk/customer service and shop coordination + May require occasional lifting of equipment or parts (up to 50 lbs) + Seasonal workload fluctuations (busy spring and winter seasons) Pay Range: $19 to $23 If this is a role that interests you and youu2019d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
