In House Counsel

Description We are looking for an experienced In House Counsel to provide legal support and guidance for our organization in the Macomb area. This role involves managing complex legal matters, including contract drafting, negotiations, and tax-related issues, while ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial contracts, corporate law, and trust and estate tax work. Responsibilities: u2022 Draft, review, and revise various types of contracts, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals. u2022 Lead negotiations on commercial agreements to secure favorable terms while mitigating risks. u2022 Provide legal advice on corporate law matters, including compliance with regulatory requirements. u2022 Oversee legal aspects of construction and development projects to ensure adherence to applicable laws. u2022 Handle tax-related legal matters, including trust and estate tax planning and compliance. u2022 Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal challenges and provide sound solutions. u2022 Conduct thorough legal research to support decision-making and policy development. u2022 Manage legal risks by identifying potential issues and developing proactive strategies. u2022 Ensure proper documentation and legal support for organizational transactions and agreements. u2022 Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on strategic legal matters. Requirements u2022 Licensed attorney with a valid legal practice certification. u2022 Extensive experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation. u2022 Strong knowledge of corporate law and regulatory compliance. u2022 Proven expertise in tax law, particularly trust and estate tax matters. u2022 Familiarity with legal aspects of construction and development projects. u2022 Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. u2022 Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams. u2022 Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
