Description: JOB ANNOUNCEMENT HOSPITALITY WORKER (PART-TIME) DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND SUPPORT SERVICES Number of Positions: 20 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Hourly Rate: $16.60 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 05/20/ 2026 Under immediate supervision, performs a combination of food service and clerical functions to help support City of Chicago sponsored nutrition programs, and performs related duties as required Positions in this class title work on a part-time basis and may be required to work weekends ESSENTIAL DUTIES u00b7 Sets up and cleans up serving area to ensure adherence to applicable food sanitation standards and quality control efforts u00b7 Prepares, pre-portions, and serves meals delivered in bulk, pre-plated and/or pre-packaged servings u00b7 Receives and verifies food deliveries and reports food service problems u00b7 Performs light housekeeping in dining area and kitchen (e.g., clearing and sanitizing tables, washing and sanitizing food pans and serving utensils, etc.) u00b7 Registers new participants for the nutrition program at a City of Chicago sponsored nutrition program site u00b7 Maintains daily attendance records and collects, counts, and reconciles clientsu2019 contributions u00b7 Completes weekly programmatic and financial forms to maintain statistics on the number of meals ordered and served, and the number of clients served u00b7 Maintains sufficient inventories of nutrition site supplies u00b7 Welcomes and assists clients at the site and assists in providing accessible information and facilitating program activities and services _Additional duties may be required for this position_ Location: Department of Family and Support Services u2013 Various Citywide Locations Days: Various (Typically, Monday-Friday) Hours: Various (Typically 4 hours per day, 9:00AM-1:00PM) THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications: u00b7 Willingness and ability to perform the duties of the job Education, Training, and Experience u00b7 Foodservice Sanitation Manager Certificate; OR u00b7 Illinois Food Handler Certificate Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications u00b7 Must obtain Foodservice Sanitation Manager Certificate license within 90 days of hire if not already certified SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview.
