Summary Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT Cybersecurity Program will allow you to draw on your technological expertise to lead and modernize Cybersecurity tools and processes in support of protecting the US Secret Service's Information Technology and Communications infrastructure. Responsibilities The selectee will serve as a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INF/SPP) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT Cybersecurity Program. Typical work assignments include: Oversees the monitoring of the network to remediate unauthorized activities by managing the assessment and the impact of implementing and sustaining a dedicated cyber defense infrastructure. Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, reviews, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software that are required to effectively manage the computer network defense service provider. Assesses policy needs and collaborate with stakeholders to develop policies to govern cyber activities. Provides direct support for acquisitions that use information technology, applying IT-related laws and policies, and providing IT-related guidance throughout the total acquisition life cycle Leads and coordinates work for the cyber workforce while ensuring alignment with critical agency priorities based upon the goals and objectives of the IT Cybersecurity Program. This Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INF/SPP) position starts at a salary of $169,279.00, GS-15 step 1, with potential to $197,200.00, GS-15 step 10. Submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. The incumbent is required to complete annual ethics and procurement integrity training. The incumbent may be subject to a one-year probationary period for supervisors/managers. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Qualifications To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying. Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification requirements as listed below: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies A. Attention to Detail: Ensuring IT programs are in compliance with cybersecurity policies and/or standards B. Customer Service: Interpreting IT security guidelines or policies to meet customer needs C. Oral Communication: Communicating organizational security policies and procedures to stakeholders D. Problem Solving: Providing solutions to cybersecurity issues to meet short and long-term goals. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You qualify for the GS-15 level (starting salary $169,279.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level performing duties such as: Applying knowledge of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and utilizing skills in securing network communications; Managing system administration on specialized cyber defense applications and systems; Executing duties governing hardware, software, and information system acquisition programs and Leading and assigning work to technologists, technicians, and other scientific personnel.
