Maintains and repairs the jetway and systems related to HVAC, electric, fire alarms, lighting, sewer, water and all aspects of commercial building maintenance. Essential Functions Performs the full range of duties (with appropriate managerial review), including hiring, evaluating, promoting and assigning duties; corrects inappropriate actions or behavior through communication and coaching; initiates discipline or termination as needed; and oversees employees or a group. Performs complex and general maintenance within the airport terminal. Responsible for fire detection and suppression systems, baggage handling systems, jet bridges and trades related systems. Performs general repairs and remodeling activities. Troubleshoots meters and control circuits, security systems and gates on a wide array of mechanical and electrical devices. Prioritizes projects throughout the facility such as asphalt patching, data center upgrades, revamping fire stations and evaluating all airport properties. Upholds safety standards and procedures when performing tasks to ensure the safety of the general public, coworkers and self. Utilizes protective clothing and materials when working with fluids and chemicals. Establishes maintenance work priorities and provides guidance and training on all essential facility-wide systems as needed. Ensures the facility is operational and identifies any potential facility-related risks. Determines staffing needs, training and evaluation of current staff with a supervisor. Ensures communication on projects and maintenance throughout the building facilities team. Ensures compliance with OSHA, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Writes service contracts for equipment maintenance on assigned systems. Purchases repair parts and equipment. Coordinates contractors and vendors for service and repairs when required. Makes recommendations for facility and equipment upgrades. Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in a supervisory/lead position over a facility or grounds maintenance work crew, a journey-level trade license, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Knowledge of:; all aspects of facilities maintenance work such as reprogramming and/or downloading of computerized systems, mechanical system repairs, electrical repairs, instrumentation troubleshooting, HVAC systems, etc.; complex safety and security systems; baggage handling systems; programmable logic controllers (PLCs); and computer usage including related software. Ability to:; research and write service contracts; comply with safety and security measures as required in an airport environment; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation. Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Six years of experience in a supervisory position over a facility or grounds maintenance crew in a commercial or industrial setting, and a master-level skilled trade license and/or specialty certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Licensing And Other Requirements Valid state-issued driver's license. Ability to complete airport driver training/certification. Employees work around baggage handling systems, driveway curbing and moving vehicles such as aircraft tugs and luggage carts.
