Operating in the food, dairy, beverage, brewing and pharmaceutical processing industries, the company has an opportunity within its technical application and sales operations.The Technical Sales Engineer position is responsible for the inside technical support of the four product lines above.Reporting to the Manager of Technical Sales Engineering, the principle activities include :Direct Customer Support of all technical and proposal enquiries for the FLC product lines including Hygienic Valves, Aseptic Valves, Hygienic Pumps and Cleaning TechnologyImplement Fluid Dynamics concepts to size optimal pumps, valves and cleaners for specific hygienic applications and systemsDetermine special product specifications by sizing control valves, safety valves, vacuum valves, cleaners, pig systems, and expansion compensatorsApply correct communication or control modules to the flow component products to allow proper integration into the customer’s overall system designAble to use product sizing and selection software such as Hy5 and Configit to choose pump and valve productsWork in close contact with our factories in Europe and our US fabricatorsArrange special product transportation and logistics as required by customersWork with the Regional Sales Managers and Product Managers to generate and manage customer proposals and orders for the US marketApply product and industry knowledge to make value-added proposals to customers when preparing quotationsAble to utilize SAP-PEM system software for quoting, order entry, creating purchase orders and order confirmations, and order invoicing.Conduct occasional product warranty evaluation of returned products and field retrofit of componentsCollaborate with GEA Product Engineering to develop and apply product selection and quoting tools in conjunction with sales channel partnersYour Profile / Qualifications2-5 yrs. experience in application engineering and technical sales support activitiesAssociates degreeUnderstanding of Fluid Dynamics and related industry practicesA knowledge of sanitary liquid processing equipment and processesSpecific technical knowledge of GEA Flow Components hygienic and aseptic productsFamiliarity with solenoid control technology and communication protocolsKnowledge of Hy5 and Configit product sizing and selection softwareUnderstanding of inventory management practices, including safety stock and lead time planningKnowledge with pricing strategy, sales channels and discounting practiceUnderstanding of cost accounting principles and invoicing practicesFamiliarity of importing logistics, including currency exchange rates, shipment tracking, customsComputer skills: experience with SAP-PEM, Microsoft Office and inventory management processes is necessaryExperience working with OEM factories, fabrication contractors, and automation suppliers is desirableGEA is an equal opportunity employer.
