Our client, an educational organization dedicated to fostering growth and development in students, is seeking a Student Support Assistant (Disability Services) to join their team. As a Student Support Assistant (Disability Services), you will be part of the Student Support team supporting students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Student Support Assistant (Disability Services)- Part Time Location: Middletown, NY Pay Range: $18.00/hr Shift: Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 2pm What's the Job? + Assist students during lessons, small groups, and one-on-one instruction to promote inclusion and engagement. + Adapt educational materials and activities to accommodate varied learning styles and needs. + Reinforce academic skills through guided practice, modeling, prompting, and structured routines. + Implement positive behavior support strategies, including visual schedules and reinforcement systems. + Maintain a safe, respectful environment that encourages student confidence and self-advocacy. What's Needed? + Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with disabilities in educational, community, or therapeutic settings. + Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm in fast-paced or emotionally charged situations. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and support their emotional and social development. + Willingness to collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training and workshops.
