Correctional Medical Assistant u2013 Contract Location: Gig Harbor, WA Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential for extension Anticipated Start Date: May 25 Schedule: Mondayu2013Friday, 7:00 AM u2013 3:30 PM Holidays/Weekends: No weekends, no holidays Pay + Local Rate: $30/hour Benefits + Weekly pay + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + 401(k) options Position Overview Seeking a Washington State Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical support services within a correctional healthcare setting in Gig Harbor, WA. This role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, and comfort working in a structured and secure environment. Responsibilities + Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints + Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures + Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, wound care, and specimen collection as assigned + Administer medications and treatments per facility protocol and scope + Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record + Adhere to infection control, safety, and correctional facility policies + Collaborate with nursing staff, providers, and custody personnel to support patient care Requirements + Active Washington State Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) + Minimum 1 year of recent clinical medical assistant experience + Urgent care experience preferred + Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills + Ability to function independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.
