Cleans/splits/divides/ prunes rootstocks anddivisions to prepare them for planting. Plants material into pots on anassembly line or individual process. Tags newly planted material.Vegetables/Fruit: Plants, cultivates, harvests and packs vegetables andfruit. Works on planter, plants roots, seeds, and bulbs. Workers mayspread or remove plastic or other ground covering and drip tape fromfields. Weeds, thins, plants. Transplants plants, riding on transplanteror by hand. May set poles and wires for vine plants. Workers must alsostake/tie plants. Workers will trellis and prune plants. Picks, cuts,lifts, or pulls crops to harvest them. Care must be taken to preventdamaging produce and plants.Workers will perform put-down: Transfer or relocate plants, placing themon carts and wagons and then in organized blocks on greenhouse benchesor hangers, in polyhuts, or on weedmat on the ground. Ensure plants arein the correct location and are properly signed. Workers may be asked toperform inventory duties during these tasks, including counting, dumpingof plants, and data entry. Workers will assist with procedures thatencourage plant health and maintain appearance: Pull weeds fromcontainers; prune plants; space plants to allow for proper growth; applyfertilizer; hand water, scout for disease and pests and assist withspray applications when needed.Workers will pick ordered plants from the greenhouses, polyhuts, orheel-in beds and prepare and organize plants for shipping to wholesalecustomers: Select ordered plants from growing locations. Load plants onwagons, trucks and carts. Prepare potted plants for shipping: cleanleaves, debris and spent blooms from plants, attach label. Placeprepared plants on carts and wrap carts with plastic film. Roll plantcarts to their proper shipping location for drivers to load. For all ofthe above listed reasons, all workers must be able to read so thatorders can be pulled properly and efficiently.Workers will prepare larger plants for shipping: Select ordered plantsfrom growing locations by hand or with equipment. Unload products at adesignated location for drivers to load onto trucks. Workers will assistand direct the teams to keep all areas including facilities andproduction sites weed-free, debris- free, organized, properly tagged andsigned: May remove plastic weather polyhut coverings in spring. Mayinstall plastic weather polyhut coverings in fall. May assist thefacility coach with irrigation or other essential tasks directly relatedto growing when needed. Assist with farm building/field maintenance andrepairs: Work may also include mechanized field work using powerequipment. By way of example and not limitation, power equipment mayinclude tractors, planters, gators, sprayers, cultivators, spades,conveyor belts and other equipment. Workers will be expected to be ableto operate agricultural equipment with or without direction.Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specificationsstated in the job order and have at least 2 months of experience ingeneral agricultural labor. Saturday work required.Work is to be done for long periods of time in the field, when plantsmay be wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain,snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extremetemperatures. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, relatedchemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workersmust be able to perform the required work with or without reasonableaccommodations.Must wear assigned personal rotective equipment when required. Mustreport for work daily wearing appropriate work clothing and boots orother durable foot wear. Casual clothing not permitted. Workers wearinginappropriate clothing will not be permitted to start work.Workers will have an unpaid lunch break when working more than 5 hours.Must report to work at the designated time and place each day. Daily orweekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature,crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of anychange to start/end times. Employer may request, but not require, thatworkers work more than the stated daily hours, on the worker's Sabbath,or on federal holidays.Workers may not report for work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.Possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol on company worksites orvehicles is prohibited and will be cause for immediate termination.Regardless of whether the employer requires a background check as acondition of employment, the employer may terminate for cause, inaccordance with applicable laws and regulations, any worker discoveredduring the period of employment to have a criminal conviction record orstatus as a registered sex offender that the employer reasonablybelieves will endanger the safety or welfare of other workers, companystaff, customers, or the public at large.The work described herein is regular, seasonal full-time work requiringall workers to be availa
