Summary This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Facilities Project Manager, you will be interpreting DOE-wide policies and developing, formulating and implementing for Headquarters policies, standards and procedures relating to space management and interior design activities. The Office of Management (PILO), Office of Logistics and Facility Operations, Office of Administration. The PILO's functions include: interpreting DOE-wide policies and developing, formulating and implementing for Headquarters policies, standards and procedures relating to space management and interior design activities; formulation and implementation of alterations, rent and lease management policies as well as administration of programs to include: carpet installation; conventional and systems furniture order, personal property acquisition, inventory and disposal, moving services; and, managing these activities for DOE Headquarters facilities located in the Washington Metropolitan Area (including facilities at Germantown, MD). Veterans shape the future of energy As a Facilities Project Manager, you will: Manage comprehensive programs for the alteration, repair, office services, and improvement of DOE government-owned facilities in the Washington, D.C. area. Prepare various reports on building management operations, alterations, fund expenditures, and general facilities services, using computer systems like AutoCAD for plans and drawings. Provide advice and counsel to staff regarding office services, alterations, and renovations to accommodate changing facility usage patterns. Perform project management, including planning, design, construction, and coordination, to define the scope of work for design, alteration, repair, and renovation projects. Analyze requests for space alterations, develops schedules, and coordinates personnel and equipment movement for minimal disruption. Administer contracts and acts as a Contract Officer Representative for facility improvements and alterations, ensuring compliance and managing project progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Assisting in planning and coordinating the management programs on the construction, alteration, repair, office services and improvement of leased facilities. Advising customers on office services for constructions, repairs, and renovations to physical facilities. Managing construction or space management contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications and requirements. Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level. Limit your resume to no more than two (2) pages.
