Sr Business Analyst - AI/ML (Healthcare)

Job Title: Sr Business Analyst u2013 AI/ML Type: 12+ month contract Compensation: $53/HR Contractor Work Model: Remote u2013 offsite OVERVIEW Weu2019re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support an AI/ML line of business within a healthcare payer environment (BCBS). This BA will partner closely with business and technical teams to document clear requirements for AI/ML products and the IT applications used by internal stakeholders and other BCBS plans. This is a hands-on role for someone who can own requirements end-to-end, produce strong written documentation, and communicate confidently in cross-functional forums. You do not need to build ML models, but you must understand how AI/ML is used in business and how modern model approaches have evolved in the last 3u20135 years. WHAT YOUu2019LL DO u2022 Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate requirements for AI/ML initiatives and supporting IT applications u2022 Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and process documentation u2022 Support AI/ML product efforts, including evaluating existing ML products and recommending next steps u2022 Collaborate with teams working on ML products built on AWS SageMaker (or comparable platforms) and help incorporate AI into product requirements u2022 Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, demos, retros) and work closely with delivery teams to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and complete u2022 Coordinate/assist with UAT planning and execution: test scenarios, traceability, defect triage, and stakeholder sign-off as needed TOOLS / ENVIRONMENT u2022 Delivery & documentation: Jira + Confluence (required) u2022 Core productivity tools: MS Excel, Word, SharePoint (required) u2022 AI/ML ecosystem exposure (support role): AWS Bedrock (used), ML platforms such as SageMaker (preferred) or similar (Azure ML, Databricks, etc.) u2022 Data sources: Snowflake (nice to have); some teams also use Azure MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS u2022 5+ years of Business Analyst experience (requirements, user stories, documentation, UAT support) u2022 Healthcare payer experience (required) u2022 Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment u2022 Strong Jira and Confluence experience (required) u2022 ML experience and understanding of how it has evolved over the past 3u20135 years u2022 General AI understanding: how it works and how itu2019s used in business (no model-building required) u2022 Ability to incorporate AI considerations into requirements (e.g., assumptions, data inputs/outputs, user impacts, validation approach, governance constraints) MUST-HAVE SOFT SKILLS u2022 Strong writing and documentation skills (clear, structured, and detailed) u2022 Strong communication skills (can work across business + technical teams) u2022 Ability to quickly understand new concepts and ask the right questions u2022 Comfortable working independently (can think on their feet; minimal hand-holding) NICE TO HAVE u2022 SageMaker (or similar) u2013 general understanding of how ML models are developed (in support of teams building models) u2022 Bedrock u2013 general understanding (support role) u2022 Snowflake experience u2022 Familiarity with payer operations supported by AI/ML (e.g., claims processing, customer service) System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulu00e9 and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
