In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the countryu2019s most critical role u2013 protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nationu2019s warfighters. KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment; however, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates. We are looking for an experienced, proactive Systems Engineer who is a self-starter capable of autonomous, on-the-job, learning/growth while working in a collaborative environment of small teams. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle technical challenges and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based telecommunication capabilities. This opportunity is an engineering management position where the ideal candidate will not only have the required technical acumen, but also the ability to proactively engage and effectively manage technical baselines using established/proven government systems engineering, integration & test (SEIT) processes and procedures to advance O&S activities for legacy and transitioning capabilities employed in the field. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Forceu2019s Space Systems Command. We support the Space Forceu2019s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nationu2019s warfighters. Work Environment: + Location: On-site + Travel Requirements: Minimal + Working Hours: Standard Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: u2022 Engage both government and corporate stakeholders to effectively produce outstanding results u2022 Provide senior-level critical thinking and problem solving skills to the government customer; drive technical challenges to their most logical resolution u2022 Coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoW agencies to commercial industry that translate to tangible, positive, mission-focused results u2022 Learn and apply established government SEIT processes and procedures in support of MILSATCOM and NC3 O&S activities u2022 Develop, analyze and maintain systems engineering documentation and capability requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives and continuous readiness u2022 Apply Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) frameworks and DoW acquisition best practices to daily program office operations, directly advancing strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems u2022 Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction Qualifications: Required: u2022 Active DoW SECRET clearance required to be considered for this position u2022Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university u2022 5 years experience in SE&I associated with system acquisitions and/or O&S u2022 Expertise with requirements development and analysis and the development of systems engineering-related documents u2022 Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (i.e., Jira/Confluence) u2022 Solid analytical and problem-solving skills u2022 Effective interpersonal and team-player skills u2022 Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Preferred: u2022 6+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes u2022 6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systems u2022 Experience working in a CMMI environment u2022 Possess knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence) u2022 Direct experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processes u2022 Possess Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification This position is 100% onsite at Peterson Space Force Base's (PSFB), Product Support Facility (PSF) given mission requirements and is not eligible for formal hybrid or full remote employment options. Basic Compensation: $110,000-$138,000 in Colorado Springs The offered rate will be based on the selected candidateu2019s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
