Groundskeeper

Overview We are looking for a reliable and experienced School Landscape Laborer to maintain school property grounds by mowing, cutting lawns; trimming and edging along walkways, flower beds and walls; trims bushes and trees; plants bushes and flowers; applies lawn care chemicals, as needed; and removes snow and spreads salt. Military Occupational Specialty Code: 11B, 12T, 88M, BU, 1341, 3E2X1 Responsibilities u2022 Maintain school property grounds u2022 Ensure proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems u2022 Perform a range of landscape maintenance duties including leaf removal, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing, lawn care and watering u2022 Remove litter and emptying trash cans u2022 Clean roads, parking lots and walks to ensure safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic u2022 Perform basic carpentry and painting tasks u2022 Remove ice and snow from walks, roads and lots, including the application of ice melter and road sand u2022 Establish new plants and plantings both in landscape and through greenhouse culture u2022 Use manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings u2022 Perform safety checks on equipment and recommend any necessary changes to leader u2022 Maintain safe work areas during and after work projects u2022 Clean spills as needed, including body fluids Qualifications Required: u2022 Must be 18 years of age or older u2022 Must have a valid Driver's License u2022 No high school diploma, GED or college degree required u2022 No experience required and on the job training provided Preferred: + 2 to 3 years of commercial groundskeeping and/or landscaping experience + Ability to perform job duties in various weather conditions such as high heat, rain, and other outdoor elements + Experience with commercial ride-on mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers, and weed eaters REQNUMBER: 152736ABM is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer qualified applicants without regard race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran or any other protected factor under federal, state, or local law.
