We help students and teachers thrive in 21st-century classrooms, and take people of all ages on journeys of exploration- exposing them to new people, places and ideas. This role will work hybrid between working inu00a0KQED's newly renovated headquarters (u00a0and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Position Summary & Essential Functions: + The editorial intern will report and write weekly event picks, news briefs, andu00a0 shorter breaking stories online. You will be strongly encouraged to file at least one in-depth, feature length story during your internship.u00a0u00a0 Other Job Functions: + Contributing to group projects and assisting editors as needed. Some listu00a0 management or formatting tasks may arise from time to time, as well as occasional audio oru00a0 photography assignments.u00a0u00a0 Knowledge/Experience Required: + Experience writing and reporting + A natural curiosity andu00a0 open mind + A passion for the arts in all its forms + Strong writing voice + Solid work ethic + Commitment to serving the community Knowledge/Experience Desired: + Fluency in Wordpress or equivalent CMS platform + Photography and audio skills + Ability to drive for stories + Nimbleness and creativity on socialu00a0 media + Familiarity with public records + Deep knowledge of the Bay Area arts scene Growth & Development Opportunities: + This is not a fetch-coffee internship.
