*Job Description** Successful candidate will work in a high-paced laboratory service environment supporting various aspects of a multi-disciplined chemical/physical testing laboratory organization This laboratory position supports the manufacture and development of all BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) products used in commercial, scientific, and military applications. This position is for a dedicated operator of tensile testing equipment. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. **What You ll Do:** + Learn to operate and refine skills in operation of tensile testing equipment on a daily basis (primary workload). + Participating in fast paced, high volume repetitious testing. + Measure material properties under tension and compression loads to support production and R&D efforts. + Gather consistent data and communicate results to Engineers and Programs + Perform Material Certifications. + Read and be trained to work to BAE Systems SMS Policies, Procedures, and Engineering Documents + Follow verbal work instruction. + Other duties assigned in support of general laboratory activities. + Support all programs at BAE Systems SMS including but not limited to the Military, National Defense, and Civil business sectors. + Reporting location will depend on business needs (Westminster, Broomfield, and/or Boulder campuses) and individual skill sets. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 year or more related experience. + Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor s or Master s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + Must be able to lift 50lbs. + Demonstrated ability to perform all tasks in BAE Systems SMS Technician Requirements. + Proven interpersonal skills and work well as a team player. + Ability and desire to learn. + Attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment. + Excellent communication skills. + Ability to follow written and verbal instruction for complex tasks. + Demonstrated ability to work with typical chemicals and equipment used in a chemical and physical testing laboratory. + Demonstrated mathematical skills such as calculating area and volume of geometric shapes. + Mechanical aptitude with adept fine motor skills. + Ability to operate band saw, drill press, power tools, hand tools. + Excellent customer service skills. + Capability in reading/understanding/performing procedures as stated in Engineering Documents. + General Microsoft skills (Excel, Word ). + Demonstrated computer, mechanical, electrical, and/or laboratory skills. #LI-NP1 A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. As this position requires operating a company vehicle, an offer and subsequent employment are contingent upon possessing and maintaining a valid US driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record review. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Familiarity with laboratory and cleanroom protocols. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $47614 - $76181 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
