Position Summary:Responsible for completing verifications, testing, repairs, and maintenance on tools. This position will also train crews how to safely use torque and tension tooling.Essential Job Functions:Test calibrated tooling daily for accuracyTest bolts for flange specific torque based on manufacture procedureGather and manage all bolt manufacture paperwork for turbine turnover packageMake repairs and maintenance required on toolingFill out tooling logs and turbine related documentationComplete audits to track proper installation practices and correct torque proceduresManage onsite inventory of toolsAssign tooling per crew and fit sockets according to standard operating procedure (SOP) for daily testing of calibrated toolingReview tower manufacture specifications and bolt sizes to ensure we have the correct sockets and tooling onsiteCheck anchor bolts against turbine for fitment issues and proper turning sleeves in the tensioning headTrack and maintain all certifications for site specific toolingMonitor all tooling for calibration dates for potential expiration during projectSchedule calibrations for tools that are set to expireCreate and share lesson learned documents and best practices that identify issues to ensure future projects do not repeat similar mistakesCollaborate with Project site teams in establishing and implementing safe and efficient work processes and best practices in regards to toolingConduct on-site training as required on various test equipment and/or torque/tension equipmentAssist Laydown Yard Foreman as neededParticipate and be involved in the Plan of the Day (POD) meetings daily to bring up any and all relevant issuesReview Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, manuals, permits, Scope of Work (SOW) and any other applicable requirement associated with site specific tasksAssist with quality readiness meetings and page turn meetings for site specific erectionAssist site Field Quality Manager (FQM) in other site related quality mattersOther duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and three or more years’ of related experience in construction or equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this roleProficient in one or more craft areasAbility to take initiativeAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to lead by example and communicate effectivelyAbility to compute basics numbers, read scales and use simple fractionsComputer experience in Microsoft Office, Excel and e-mailAbility to work well under pressure and within timelinesWorking Environment:Regularly exposed to outside weather conditionsFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heatOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrationNoise level in the work environment is usually loudWhat's in it for youFinancial WellbeingCompensation: $28.00-$31.50/hourly, commensurate with experienceCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & WellnessMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug PlanMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
