The Opportunity As the Estimator , you will have the opportunity to assist in preparation and review of lump sum, unit rate and cost plus estimates and in preparation of conceptual estimating cost analysis. Project types include water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipeline conveyance, heavy civil and structural projects, dams and hydro facilities, tunnel construction, waterway, and marine construction. Key Responsibilities u2022 Responsible for estimate coordination and consolidation of each of the discipline estimates into the Proposal Estimate u2022 Reviews design scopes and develop quantities u2022 Prepares complete and accurate cost estimates for scopes of work assigned.Supports in the preparation of quantity takeoffs for estimates u2022 Performs productivity analysis of construction operations u2022 Prepares direct labor estimates, distributable or contractors indirect cost estimates u2022 Prepares contingency, escalation and reconciliation for estimates u2022 Performs comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between projects u2022 Works with Engineers and support disciplines to ensure alignment across responsible scope u2022 Supports the preparation of the Basis of Estimate and management presentations u2022 Supports the Lead Estimator in the review and presentation of estimate details to internal stakeholders u2022 Updates and maintain historical cost data and benchmarking u2022 Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives where appropriate u2022 Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements Management Responsibilities Individual Contributor Preferred Skills u2022 BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required u2022 Field and/or project experience is a plus u2022 Commercial cost estimating experience including estimating facility enclosures and structures, architectural finishes, building mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Electrical systems) u2022 Complex estimating principles/procedures u2022 Cost principles/procedures u2022 Mathematical skills u2022 Project design scopes u2022 Consulting skills u2022 Analytical skills u2022 Interpret and understand specifications and contracts u2022 Microsoft Excel u2022 Verbal and written communication skills u2022 Presentation skills u2022 InEight u2022 Aspen Capital Cost Estimator Minimum Qualifications + 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required + All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
