Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Technician Job Description The Mobile Maintenance Technician operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across multiple facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient performance. This role includes performing both routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing building systems, and completing interior and exterior facility repairs to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime. Responsibilities + Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to achieve efficient operation and extend equipment life. + Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, following established procedures and schedules. + Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, providing timely and effective solutions to restore proper operation. + Conduct general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, and other facility-related services. + Perform interior and exterior property repairs, including work on walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting. + Troubleshoot equipment and building system problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. + Assure all equipment is maintained in a safe, energy-efficient manner, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to reduce downtime. + Respond promptly to service calls and maintenance requests, including urgent and emergency situations, while providing professional and courteous customer service. + Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and past operating experiences for all assigned equipment and systems. + Travel to multiple client sites within the assigned region to complete work orders and support facility operations at retail and light commercial locations. + Coordinate with clients to schedule service visits, including setting up follow-up appointments when contacted after hours or on weekends. Essential Skills + Hands-on experience operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units. + Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC system issues in a timely and effective manner. + Practical knowledge of plumbing systems, including the ability to perform repairs and maintenance. + Experience with electrical systems and components in a facility or building maintenance setting. + Ability to perform lighting maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting lighting issues. + Familiarity with boilers and related mechanical equipment used in building operations. + General building maintenance skills, including carpentry, painting, and repair of walls, flooring, and fixtures. + Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and building system issues. + Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed. + Capability to respond to service calls and emergencies promptly while delivering professional customer service. + Valid driveru2019s license and ability to travel regularly to multiple client sites within the assigned region. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working as a maintenance technician or in a similar facility maintenance role. + Experience supporting retail and light commercial locations or multi-site facilities. + Comfort working on roofing systems and exterior building elements. + Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while handling multiple work orders. + Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and coordinating service visits. + Self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently in the field. Work Environment This is a mobile, field-based role that requires regular travel to client sites within approximately a 1.5-hour radius of the Charleston, WV area. You will primarily support retail and light commercial locations, working on a variety of building systems and facility components. The position involves responding to work orders and service calls, with phone accessibility expected on a 24/7 basis to communicate with clients and arrange service, including setting up Monday appointments when contacted over weekends. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the task, and may include accessing roofs, mechanical rooms, and other facility areas. Standard facility maintenance tools and equipment, as well as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tools, are used regularly. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, WV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
