In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring safety, compliance, efficiency, and outstanding customer service.Why QCD?QCD is a premier custom distributor serving iconic brands across the U.S. We pride ourselves on our customer-first approach and uphold our core values every day:Treat others like you want to be treatedMake the best productGive the customer a fair dealMaintain the highest standardsKey Responsibilities:Oversee and support daily transportation operations, including driver performance, routing, and on-time delivery (25%)Plan and schedule routes and resources in compliance with DOT regulations (20%)Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs with Penske leasing (15%)Motivate and support team members, fostering a positive work environment (20%)Supervise union employees, support conflict resolution, and administer discipline in partnership with leadership (10%)Maintain routing and tracking systems (e.g., Samsara, Paragon), and review driver data (10%)What You Bring:Education:High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferredExperience:3-6 years in transportation or food distribution, including union or non-union supervisory experienceSkills:Knowledge of DOT/CSA regulations and safety practicesFamiliarity with on-board computer systems and routing softwareStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage up to 30+ drivers and staffTech-savvy: Basic proficiency in MS Word/Excel and routing softwarePerformance Areas:Driver performance (off-load rate, on-time delivery)DOT complianceCustomer satisfaction and issue resolutionEmployee safety and engagementInterdepartmental teamwork
