Job Description: Our client is a large global systems integrator. Their AV team is expanding. This candidate can sit anywhere in the USA except Texas, Missouri and New York. Our cleint's end clients are companies like Google and SAP. Travel - 50% Travel required: preferably someone willing to travel throughout the US. Travel will be covered by the client. This candidate needs to know AV from a design, BOM, and implementation perspective but also be have onsite install experience. This person will have to have AV experience regarding setting up conference rooms vs an AV engineer setting up AV for online or tv broadcasting. Responsibilities: u2022 Implementing audio-visual systems tailored to client needs u2022 Performing installation and setup of AV equipment such as projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools u2022 Conducting troubleshooting of AV systems u2022 Configuring and calibrating AV equipment to ensure optimal performance u2022 Providing technical support and training for users on AV system operation u2022 Collaborating with network engineers to integrate AV systems into network infrastructure u2022 Managing and documenting inventory of equipment and accessories u2022 Staying up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and industry trends u2022 Understanding detailed system installation diagrams and technical drawings/documentation u2022 Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations Duties: Design and Documentation Expertise u2022 Proficient in reviewing architectural, MEP, and AV schematics and construction drawings u2022 Skilled at identifying design conflicts, integration issues, and coordination gaps u2022 Able to provide detailed technical recommendations and value-engineering solutions u2022 Familiar with UK building regulations and standards affecting AV installations Testing, Calibration, and Analysis u2022 Experienced in acoustic analysis including STC, RT60, and ambient noise measurements u2022 Skilled in calibrating DSPs, equalizers, speaker arrays, and microphones for audio clarity u2022 Capable of testing and adjusting lighting systems for coverage, uniformity, and DALI/DMX protocols u2022 Proficient in evaluating AV scenarios to optimize performance and user experience Cabling and Installation Mastery u2022 Advanced knowledge of structured cabling for: o Network/Data (Cat6, Cat6a, Fibre) o Video (HDMI, SDI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT) o Audio (Analog, AES/EBU, Dante, XLR) o Electrical (Low-voltage and AV power circuits) u2022 Skilled in compliant cable routing, containment installation, and patching u2022 Adheres to BS 7671 and UK standards for safe and high-quality wiring practices Systems Integration and Commissioning u2022 Experienced in configuring and integrating AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc.) u2022 Able to install and commission conferencing systems, projectors, displays, and audio processors u2022 Conducts rigorous system testing, diagnostics, and performance verification u2022 Delivers comprehensive handovers including documentation, client training, and snag resolution Advanced AV Application Knowledge u2022 Expert in AV-over-IP deployments (e.g., Dante, NDI, SDVoE) u2022 Familiar with AV software platforms and remote monitoring tools u2022 Skilled in interfacing AV systems with building automation and IT networks Top Skills: Audiovisual, Cabling, CTS, Audio Additional Skills & Qualifications: Open to 50% Travel. Experience Level: Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
