Job Description The Associate Technical Trainer works as part of a corporate university team, partnering closely with trainers and Subject Matter Experts to deliver high-volume technical instruction to adult learners in the telecommunications and data center environment. This 100% onsite role focuses on delivering structured training programs, supporting employee onboarding, and helping to ensure the successful deployment of next-generation infrastructure technologies. The trainer serves as a professional role model, demonstrating excellence, reliability, and strong communication skills while collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities + Facilitate employee training and onboarding using approved curriculum and training materials. + Deliver technical instruction through lectures, hands-on activities, labs, and various assessments to adult learners. + Provide remediation, coaching, and support to learners to ensure they achieve defined learning outcomes. + Consult with other trainers, managers, leadership, and stakeholders to align training with operational needs. + Track and compile training data to produce accurate training reports and metrics. + Document employee performance, progress, and outcomes associated with training programs. + Review, test, and provide constructive feedback on existing and new training materials. + Prepare and maintain training facilities, including daily setup, organization, and cleaning of classrooms and lab spaces. + Stay current on the latest data center tools, technologies, and infrastructure best practices and incorporate them into training when appropriate. + Coordinate and monitor learner enrollment, training schedules, and equipment usage. + Develop and coordinate training schedules to support business and learner needs. + Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and feedback from learners and stakeholders. + Support the conceptualization and development of new training materials and learning resources. + Communicate training needs, schedules, and available online resources to learners and relevant stakeholders. + Participate in mentorship and professional development opportunities provided by Trainers. + Explain difficult or sensitive technical information in a clear, professional, and approachable manner. + Travel as needed to deliver training or support training activities at other locations. Essential Skills + 3u20136 years of experience in a technical field such as telecommunications, data centers, electrical, or similar trades. + Demonstrated ability to explain complex tasks and concepts to others, such as experience serving as a field lead or peer trainer. + Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for adult technical instruction. + Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). + Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with various levels of management and stakeholders. + Solid organizational skills and an advanced, inquisitive mindset focused on continuous learning. + Willingness to obtain telecommunications industry certifications (such as BICSI) within the first 12 months of employment. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a corporate training environment. + Ability to work 100% onsite and travel as needed for training delivery. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience delivering technical training, onboarding programs, or hands-on labs in a corporate or field environment. + Familiarity with data center operations, tools, and infrastructure best practices. + Experience assessing training needs through surveys, interviews, or performance data. + Experience contributing to the design, testing, and improvement of training materials and curricula. + Comfort working in a high-volume training environment, spending the majority of the workweek delivering instruction. + Interest in mentorship and openness to professional development from Trainers. + Commitment to transparent communication, including disclosure of any use of AI tools during the application or interview process. Work Environment This role is 100% in-person and onsite, based in a corporate university setting with training locations in Indianapolis, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio. The work environment centers on classroom and lab-based technical training for telecommunications and data center operations, with frequent use of computers, Microsoft Office applications, and data center tools and equipment. Trainers spend at least 75% of their time each week actively delivering instruction, facilitating labs, and interacting with learners. The position involves preparing and maintaining training rooms and lab spaces, including daily setup, organization, and cleaning to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. Occasional travel may be required to support training at other sites. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
