Kennedy Academy for Health Careers seeks an exceptional Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Recruitment who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Kennedy Academy is a Horace Mann In-District Charter High School. It is a college-preparatory and vocational high school for Boston students exploring careers in health and health-related fields. The Academy provides a supportive learning environment that promotes respect and embraces diversity. Students will attain the life skills needed to become productive and positive members of society. REPORTS TO: Head of School or Designee Position Overview The Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Recruitment is a senior leadership position responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing a comprehensive, data-driven strategy to recruit, admit, and enroll students in alignment with the schoolu2019s mission, growth goals, and equity commitments. This role provides strategic leadership across admissions operations, community outreach, family engagement, marketing, and enrollment data management. The Director ensures that enrollment targets are met or exceeded while maintaining compliance with Boston Public Schools policies and ensuring equitable access for all students. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Enrollment Planning + Develop and lead a multi-year enrollment strategy aligned to school growth targets, budget sustainability, and program expansion + Set annual enrollment goals and monitor progress across all grade levels and entry points. + Analyze enrollment trends, application data, yield rates, and attrition to inform strategic decisions + Serve as the schoolu2019s subject-matter expert on admissions, enrollment, and recruitment Admissions Operations + Oversee all aspects of the admissions process, including application management, lotteries (if applicable), offers, waitlists, and acceptance communications + Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant admissions and enrollment processes in coordination with BPS Enrollment Services + Establish systems to track applicant pipelines and enrollment outcomes + Ensure confidentiality and FERPA compliance in all admissions data and communications Recruitment & Community Outreach + Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan that attracts a diverse and talented applicant pool + Lead recruitment efforts, including open houses, information sessions, school tours, feeder school visits, and community-based events + Build and sustain strong relationships with feeder schools, community organizations, healthcare partners, and advocacy groups + Position the school as a destination option through consistent, mission-aligned messaging Family Engagement & Customer Experience + Ensure a welcoming, transparent, and family-centered admissions experience + Serve as a senior point of contact for prospective families, addressing questions, concerns, and escalations + Collaborate with the Family Liaison to ensure culturally responsive and accessible engagement practices + Oversee communications that support families from inquiry through enrollment and onboarding Marketing & Communications + Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop recruitment materials, digital content, and campaigns + Oversee messaging across platforms, including print, email, website, and social media + Ensure alignment between recruitment efforts and the schoolu2019s brand, values, and strategic priorities Data, Systems & Reporting + Oversee admissions and enrollment databases to ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability + Produce regular enrollment reports and dashboards for school leadership and external stakeholders + Use data to evaluate recruitment effectiveness and continuously improve strategies Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration + Supervise and support the Coordinator of admissions, enrollment, and community-facing staff (e.g., coordinators, consultants, etc.) + Provide training, guidance, and accountability structures for admissions-related roles + Collaborate closely with admin team leadership, student support teams, alumni engagement, and school partners + Partner with healthcare institutions and workforce partners to align recruitment with pathway development Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement + Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and recruitment initiatives using qualitative and quantitative data + Stay current on trends in education, enrollment, and school choice to inform strategy + Recommend innovations and adjustments to improve yield, retention, and long-term engagement Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree required + Minimum of five years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, recruitment, or related leadership roles + Demonstrated success in meeting enrollment targets in an educational or nonprofit setting + Strong data analysis, project management, and leadership skills Qualifications - Preferred + Hold a Masteru2019s Degree in a related field + A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role + Educational experience at the high school level in an urban setting + Familiarity with school choice, lottery-based admissions, or charter/Horace Mann environments + Experience supervising staff and managing cross-functional teams + BPS values linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring added value to the classroom, school, and district culture and diversity. BPS is particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in one of BPS's official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali. Terms: Managerial Tier E This position is subject to the City of Boston residency requirement. School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or head of school. As a Horace Mann Charter School, employees are paid a competitive salary in accordance with the BPS managerial scale. The employee will be required to adhere to the work conditions, including calendar, schedule, and flexibility, established by the School. Common planning time, program, department and committee meetings, and professional development occur on Mondays, generally between 2pm- 4pm. Other benefits include Medical and Dental benefits and eligibility for the City of Boston retirement plan. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
