Position Summary:Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure or non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice faculty position in internal medicine. CPHS fully funds this position, and the faculty would support essential components of the CPHS Department of Pharmacy Practice while based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:At Cape Fear Valley Medical CenterEstablish a clinical inpatient practice in internal medicine by providing clinical pharmacy and patient care services as a member of an interprofessional team.Provide experiential instruction to CPHS student pharmacists on a required 2-month internal medicine rotation (responsible for up to 22 student months of APPE clerkship rotations annually).Precept pharmacy residents in collaboration with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center’s Residency Program Directors.Work collaboratively with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, coordinated patient care.Provide on-site pharmacotherapy education to student pharmacists, pharmacy residents, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, medical students, medical residents/fellows, and attending physicians.Uphold and abide by Cape Fear Valley Medical Center’s policies and procedures.At Campbell UniversityProvide didactic lectures to student pharmacists at CPHS as needed in the curriculum.Direct at least one didactic course, including but not limited to integrated pharmacotherapy (IP) course, pharmacy practice skills course (PPS), or elective(s).Participate in the PPS OSCE skills labs.Maintain CPHS expectations in Service, Teaching, and Scholarship that will be consistent with rank and appointment as identified in the CPHS Policies and Procedures Governing Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) for the faculty in the CPHS.Adhere to Department policies regarding submissions of monthly activity and expense reports.Participate and serve local, state, and national professional organizations as appropriate.Attend University, School, and Departmental activities (meetings, faculty development programs, orientation, convocation, and graduation) as required.Serve on CPHS and Department committees as assigned.Engage in scholarly activities and assist with patient-focused outcomes research with students and residents at CPHS and Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.Other job-related duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Hold self, residents, and students accountable for exemplary patient care.Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.Education/Experience:Doctor of Pharmacy degree and PGY1 residency required; PGY2 residency training or equivalent experience desired.Board Certification desired.Active NC pharmacy license (or eligible for).Clinical and didactic instruction in a Doctor of Pharmacy program is desired.Experience in a higher education sector desired.Experience in internal medicine desired.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively with all groups through oral and written channels.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skillsComprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.Familiarity with Blackboard software programs desired.Familiarity with Epic Electronic Medical Record software desired.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms.Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials, and the public.Work independently as well as function effectively on a team and within a diverse group of peopleExercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situationsManage multiple concurrent projects and meet set deadlines.Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a changing environment.Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours.This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
