Payroll Specialist

Description An established firm in Plainview, NY is seeking a temporary Payroll Specialist to assist the payroll department during a short-term coverage need due to illness. This role is expected to last approximately 2 months, with the potential to convert to a permanent opportunity depending on business needs and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on payroll experience supporting organizations of 1500+ employees, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with UKG or a similar payroll/timekeeping system. Responsibilities + Process and support payroll for a multi-employee organization + Review, audit, and verify employee timekeeping data in UKG + Assist with payroll corrections, adjustments, and employee inquiries + Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner + Maintain payroll records and documentation + Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or missing information + Support payroll-related reporting and administrative tasks + Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations Requirements + Prior payroll processing experience required + Experience with UKG strongly preferred + Strong attention to detail and accuracy + Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment + Comfortable handling confidential employee information + Strong communication and follow-up skills + Experience supporting payroll for a mid-sized or large organization is a plus + Engineering, construction, professional services, or similar industry experience is helpful but not required Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
