They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.Support the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, ensuring underlying transactions, disclosures, and supporting schedules are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP and internal control requirementsPrepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and internal management reporting, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and executive- and board-level reporting packagesExecute and enhance key financial reporting processes, including SEC reporting, internal reporting, tax support, and investor-related deliverables, with a focus on improving efficiency and accuracySEC Reporting & Technical AccountingAssist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K), including supporting schedules, disclosures, and coordination of cross-functional inputs to ensure completeness and accuracyPerform detailed tie-out procedures of financial statements and footnotes to underlying supportSupport the quarterly and annual external audit and manage deliverablesSupport with researching, analyzing, and documenting technical accounting issues, including adoption of new accounting standards and accounting for complex or non-routine transactionsInternal & Management ReportingPrepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for division and executive management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear articulation of key drivers of performanceSupport the preparation of Board of Directors materials, including financial presentations, trend analyses, and supporting schedulesPerform detailed variance analysis of actual results compared to budget, forecast, and prior periods.Tax & Audit SupportAssist with the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual income tax provision in coordination with external tax advisors, including supporting schedules and data validationSupport tax compliance processes by gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial information required for federal and state filingsSupport the design, documentation, and execution of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), including participation in control testing and process improvementsInvestor Relations SupportAssist in the preparation of investor-facing materials, including earnings presentations, supplemental disclosures, and other recurring external communicationsSupport the development of earnings call materials and management briefing packages, including financial analyses and key messaging pointsPerform peer benchmarking and industry research to support investor communications and enhance external financial disclosuresSupervision of Others: n/aAuthority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: Exercises independent judgement on accounting treatment for standard and non-recurring entries and transactionsExercises independent judgement in preparation of monthly financial reporting schedulesPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.Location: Plano Corporate Office Education:BS degree in Accounting, Masters preferredCPA preferredExperience:3-5+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or in a public company corporate finance or SEC reporting functionStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including experience with financial statement preparation and disclosuresUnderstanding of the financial close and consolidation process, including exposure to multi-entity structures and reporting cyclesExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, public company environmentStrong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial results, perform variance analysis, and evaluate trends in financial and operational dataAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, and large datasets (experience with Workiva preferred)Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to managementGreen Brick Total Compensation:Competitive compensation and bonus programMultiple Medical and ancillary benefits401(k) with Company MatchHome Purchase DiscountNothing in this position description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
