Mill and Lathe Machinist - 33/hr - Climate Controlled Job Description This role focuses on setting up and operating multiple CNC mills and lathes in a precision manufacturing environment. You will work with advanced CNC equipment, perform your own setups, offsets, and tool changes, and ensure all parts meet tight tolerance and quality requirements through accurate measurement and inspection. Responsibilities + Set up and operate up to three CNC mills and lathes at a time in a production environment. + Set up and operate CNC machines, including Seiki and Smart CNC machines running on Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls. + Configure machines to consistently hold tolerances of +/- 0.5. + Interpret and work from blueprints to set up CNC machines correctly. + Perform tool changes and apply offsets as needed to maintain part quality and production efficiency. + Make adjustments to G and M codes as needed to optimize machining operations and correct minor program issues. + Perform in-process and final quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. + Work with a variety of materials, including titanium, bronze, copper, and steel alloys. + Deburr parts as needed to meet finish and quality standards. + Accurately enter production numbers and related data into computer systems. + Collaborate with a lower-level machine operator, providing guidance on machine operation and best practices. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills or CNC lathes. + Proven ability to perform your own tool changes and offsets on CNC machines. + Minimum 2 years of experience setting tooling in CNC machines. + At least 2 years of experience setting up CNC machines based on blueprints. + Minimum 2 years of experience interpreting prints to set up machines. + At least 2 years of experience performing quality checks using micrometers and calipers. + Ability to accurately enter data and navigate computer systems for production reporting. + Working knowledge of G and M codes sufficient to make adjustments at the machine. + Experience working with metals such as titanium, bronze, copper, and steel alloys. + Strong attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1 year of experience with GD&T is a plus. + 1 year of CAD programming experience is a plus. + 1 year of experience with twin spindle machines is a plus. + Familiarity with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls is highly beneficial. + Experience with programming or editing CNC programs is an advantage. + Ability to collaborate and share knowledge with less experienced machine operators. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springboro, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
