Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 - Electromagnetic Environmental Effects E3 to oversee the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team within the SET Specialty Engineering directorate. This position may be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. What you will get to do: The Sentinel E3 Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the E3 specific technical tasking as defined in the program Statement of Work (SOW) or as assigned by the Director of Specialty Engineering. Areas of responsibility include EMI, EMC, ESD, Spectrum Management and TEMPEST. The E3 Manager will have responsibility for the quality and technical execution of a team of 30-40 engineers. This role works closely with program leadership, technical leaders, business management, the engineering homeroom and directly with the customer. This position requires experience in systems engineering technical work, and experience with leading technical teams over a broad range of tasks including design, implementation, test, verification, reporting and scheduling. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead teams in a fluid environment, encouraging teamwork with our Customer, NGC teams and suppliers to meet program objectives. A high degree of skill in critical decision making is imperative to perform in this environment. A working knowledge of ground-based deterrence systems is desirable. The E3 Manager responsibilities include: u2022 Managing the day-to-day program execution of the E3 Specialty Engineering Team. u2022 Providing EVM responsibilities (CAM for multiple Work Packages) as delegated by the Director of Specialty Engineering. u2022 Communicate effectively and report status and progress metrics to support Program Management reviews and customer engagements. u2022 Provide senior management guidance on program execution for E3 sub-teams to include EMI Test Support, E3 Design Support, and TEMPEST, to include both testing and design support. u2022 Develop and support consistent execution of standard and best practices, methods, software and tools across E3 team and sub-teams. Must utilize feedback and lessons learned to further develop these practices and methods and foster a community of continuous improvement. u2022 Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with the Specialty Director, technical leaders, and functional homeroom. Work with program leadership and technical leads in establishing business objectives and performance goals for the team. u2022 Partner with the engineering functional homeroom for staffing and recruiting needs to meet the required skillsets to execute program scope of work u2022 Oversee the E3 team schedule and planning in support of system design reviews, materials development, recommendations, and document tracking. Youu2019ll Bring These Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a masteru2019s degree and 6 years of experience. u2022 Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope. u2022 Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. u2022 Experience managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work. u2022 Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM) or Work Package Lead (WPL). u2022 Experience in milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.) These Qualifications Are Nice To Have: u2022 10+ years of related experience. u2022 7 years of direct experience on technical teams working a complex system of systems. u2022 Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; a problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers. u2022 Ability to manage customer relationships and build consensus with customer counterparts. u2022 Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position leading a team of engineers, including performance reviews for direct reports. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead large teams of technical professionals (30+) u2022 Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to brief Segment, Program, and Customer leadership u2022 Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.) u2022 Experience as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution. u2022 Familiarity with Northrop Grumman build execution, processes, procedures, tools, and metrics u2022 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative/team setting across all levels of the organization. u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills. u2022 Experience in system sell-off and delivery to the customer u2022 Experience with Confluence and Jira, or equivalent agile programs. Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $276,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
