IT Manager - Supply Chain

Job Description AutoZone is looking for a technology leader in our IT Supply Chain Portfolio. We are on a journey to transform our Supply Chain - as an IT Manager specializing in software development on the Supply Chain Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of engineers to build, implement, and support our Legacy Warehouse Management System (WMS) as well as our New Warehouse Management System and the subsequent rollout. Knowledge of Supply Chain eco-systems is essential to this roll and collaborating with other managers to help deploy an Enterprise Scale architecture. A successful candidate will have a background in building and operating large scale warehousing, distribution and fulfillment technologies with strong Supply Chain domain experience and hands-on approach to leading software development, great project management and communication skills and an eagerness to grow with a team as they take on increasing responsibility. This individual will play a key role in executing our strategy to leverage technology to transform our supply chain. The IT Manager will work closely with the business leaders, understand short and long-term business goals, and collaborate on plans to achieve those goals by delivering leading-edge systems using best-in-class SDLC and a highly motivated team. Deliver the organizational goals aligning with the Supply Chain and Retail strategy. Responsibilities u2022 Manage the team responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting Warehousing, distribution and fulfillment technologies within our Supply Chain operations u2022 Understands the systems/applications that his/her team develops technologically/functionally, aligns with a technical roadmap of the department & AutoZone, works with the team to continuously inspect the current state, and brings innovative ideas to improve. makes sure the architecture/design decisions taken by the team are aligning to AutoZone standards keeping in mind performance, scalability, resiliency, etc. u2022 Develops technical talent and leadership capabilities in team members and ensures a highly motivated team through coaching and mentoring focusing on accountability & ownership. u2022 Implements systems to maximize usability, accessibility, and customer experience. Leverages internal and external APIs, databases, and other data sources u2022 Oversees the scheduling, control, and progress of system design, development, and installation activities u2022 Develops trusted and open relationships with key business partners at Manager and Director levels and works closely with and manages vendor partner relationships u2022 Manage and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers. u2022 Coordinates between internal and external resources, ensuring effective communication between all groups and individuals involved in projects u2022 Leads all projects under the rules and guidelines of the Project Management Office (PMO). Ensures all PMO documentation is produced to high standards u2022 Oversees project financials and ensures adherence to AutoZoneu2019s fiscal policies Qualifications u2022 Bachelors or advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering strongly preferred. u2022 12+ years of experience in software engineering, engineering management, and delivering large-scale transformation initiatives in Retail, Merchandising or Supply chain is required. u2022 Minimum of 3+ years of prior Supply Chain Systems (SCS) experience in a manageral role, with a proven track record for business capability delivery and talent development u2022 Minimum of 5+ years of overall Supply Chain experience with good understanding of commonly used supply chain systems (i.e., Warehouse Control Systems, Warehouse Execution systems, Labor Management Systems, Transportation Management Systems, Voice Picking, etc.) and other 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) systems u2022 Experience providing implementation and/or support of a cloud-based WMS application in preferred. u2022 Cloud Experience with proven track record of migrating legacy on premise applications into the cloud is preferred u2022 Experience implementing and supporting automation/robotics technology in distribution operations u2022 Experience in leading the teams working on MACH (Microservices, APIs-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture using Java, Spring boot will be required u2022 Hands-on experience developing systems using web applications/mobile application/webservice technologies on Middleware like WebLogic / JBoss / Apache / Tomcat using Oracle/Postgres RDBMS in a Unix / Linux environment. u2022 Hands-on experience Developing or Managing a large scale application in Google Cloud Platform is Required u2022 Experience with developing and managing applications across multiple data centers is a plus u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and designs to a broad range of people u2022 The ability to gain acceptance and win the confidence and cooperation of business partners is critical. u2022 Strong experience in using Agile (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe) project development methodologies u2022 Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business and technology landscapes u2022 Must have a contagious work ethic; including high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly, creatively and efficiently.
