Responsibilities The Cardiology Section at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) invites applications for a full-time position as a General Cardiologist with established skills in Preventive Cardiology, Geriatric Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (cMRI). The successful candidate will participate in the General Cardiology section at VABHS with a focus on preventive, geriatric, and cMRI. S/he will participate in the general cardiology inpatient service, which involves working at least three holidays per year, and will hold a minimum of two full-day outpatient continuity clinics each month at the Brockton campus. S/he will also be required to provide emergency coverage for last-minute changes in inpatient and consult coverage for the Cardiology section. In addition to clinical duties in cardiology, the candidate will participate in cMRI acquisition and reading.The successful candidate must have completed both a Geriatric Fellowship and an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship, must be board certified in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac MRI, and must have an established track record of publishing research in cMRI (at least ten publications in the last ten years). The position involves teaching of residents and cardiovascular disease Fellows from our affiliates Harvard Medical School and Boston University Medical School. Candidates with a successful track record and interest in developing an active program in clinical or basic research, quality of care, or equivalent academic area are encouraged to apply. The position may support an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School or Boston University Medical School as Instructor or Assistant Professor commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
