Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on keeping automated assembly lines, stamping equipment, robotic systems, and PLC-controlled machinery operating safely, efficiently, and reliably through preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across the facility.Maintain automated assembly lines, stamping equipment, and robotic systems to ensure consistent production performance.Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, conveyors, presses, gearboxes, and PLC-controlled equipment.Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens or equivalent) to identify and resolve production issues.Replace sensors, drives, bearings, belts, actuators, and other critical components as required.Support tooling changes and line changeovers to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and other technical documentation to determine work procedures and identify faulty components.Maintain quick access to critical component parts for each machine and piece of equipment to support rapid repairs.Calibrate, align, and balance machines and equipment to maintain optimal performance and product quality.Dismantle machines and equipment for repair, relocation, or overhaul, and reassemble them according to specifications.Operate diagnostic and repair equipment, including circuit testers, voltmeters, and hand tools, to perform maintenance duties safely and accurately.Perform electrical and electronic repairs down to the component or board level as needed.Provide leadership and guidance to other maintenance workers on special assignments or complex repairs when required.Assess equipment condition and recommend whether to repair or replace machinery and components.Handle hazardous materials and liquids in a way that prevents spills and leaks, ensuring all materials are contained in compliance with EPA requirements.Participate actively on the safety committee and contribute to a culture of safety throughout the facility.Monitor unscheduled machine downtime due to mechanical breakdowns, electrical problems, and normal wear and tear, and take corrective action.Maintain detailed logs on downed machines, preventative maintenance schedules, purchase orders, and daily maintenance activities.Assist with programming modifications and system improvements in collaboration with engineering to improve uptime and equipment performance.Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain strict compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all repairs meet applicable quality and safety requirements.Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend effective corrective actions.Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and support lean manufacturing and uptime improvement projects.Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Perform various other maintenance-related duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.Essential SkillsStrong experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Proficiency in maintaining automated assembly lines, stamping equipment, and robotic systems.Hands-on experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, conveyors, presses, gearboxes, and PLC-controlled equipment.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent platforms.Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.Solid electrical troubleshooting skills with 24V-480V systems, including three-phase power.Mechanical troubleshooting skills with gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Experience performing electrical and electronic repairs to the component or board level.Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as circuit testers, voltmeters, and related test equipment.Experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience required.Experience maintaining electronics, mechanics, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment applications and performing repairs.Experience or equivalent education in programming and troubleshooting PLCs.High school diploma or GED.1-2 years of related work and/or training experience in maintenance, automation, or industrial systems.Ability to handle hazardous materials safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.Strong documentation skills for maintaining logs, maintenance records, and CMMS mitment to following lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA safety standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field is preferred.Experience in automotive or high-volume assembly operations is preferred.Experience with automated production equipment and robotics is strongly preferred.Basic welding and fabrication skills.Forklift license is preferred.Experience working with plastic molding, plastic extrusion, or plastics manufacturing processes is beneficial.Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and lean manufacturing principles.Ability to support automation and controls, including programming modifications and system improvements.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify recurring failures and implement corrective actions.Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams.Capability to provide informal leadership or guidance to other maintenance You will regularly work around industrial electrical systems (24V-480V, including three-phase power), hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and various diagnostic tools such as circuit testers, voltmeters, and hand tools. The facility operates at a fast pace with a strong focus on uptime, safety, and quality. Work involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment adjustments on the production floor, with adherence to OSHA, lockout/tagout, and EPA requirements. Hours and shifts may align with production schedules in a manufacturing setting, and you should be prepared to work in an industrial environment with machinery noise, moving equipment, and standard plant safety practices.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
