Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Specialty Systems Engineering Manager 2 overseeing User Experience on the Sentinel Human Systems Integration (HSI) Specialty Engineering team . This position will be located in Huntsville, AL. This role may offer a competitive relocation package. What Youu2019ll Get To Do: u2022 Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of user-centered design activities across the Sentinel program. u2022 Closely coordinate and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), USAF, executive leadership, Office of Chief Engineers (OCE), suppliers and IWO partners to ensure that human performance, usability, and safety are integrated early and continuously throughout the system life-cycle. u2022 Establish key initiatives in support of the organizationu2019s strategic and tactical plans. u2022 Collaborate with peers and other leaders for resource planning and staffing activities. u2022 Coach, support, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance. u2022 Support staffing activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers. u2022 Provide subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, and performance counseling. u2022 Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation. u2022 Establish personal, program, and functional goals as well as conduct performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Youu2019ll Bring These Qualifications: u2022 Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a masteru2019s degree with 6 years of related experience. u2022 Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years. u2022 Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. u2022 1+ year of Experience managing to cost and schedule as a Control Account Manager (CAM)/Work Package Lead (WPL) or equivalent. u2022 1+ year of Program and/or Project management experience, managing multidisciplinary teams through complex engineering problems. u2022 1+ year of Experience working on Command and Control systems or Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs. u2022 1+ year of Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment u2022 1+ year of DoD UI/UX Design Experience, or Software UI Experience These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: u2022 Special Program Access. u2022 Master's Degree in STEM. u2022 NG CAM/EV Certification. u2022 Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. u2022 Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production. u2022 Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems. u2022 Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities. u2022 Experience with Axure wireframing/prototyping software u2022 Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) u2022 Prior experience leading 10+ person teams u2022 Previous experience managing employee performance and professional development u2022 1+ year of Experience with visual design of computer user interfaces u2022 Experience working on MMIII or Sentinel ICBM systems. Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
