This group is responsible for the accurate and timely settlement and reporting of contracts with many counterparties.All work performed by the Settlements group is related to the trading function and requires a robust knowledge of electric operations within a Power Market, fuels to include coal, propane, and diesel, and natural gas operations. In this position, you will be responsible forcomplex research and analysis supporting day-ahead and real-time activity,electric and gas cost adjustment analysis, regulatory reporting, and special projects as assigned. If you are interested in being part of a team committed to strategically evaluating and enhancing the efficiency and value of our Energy Supply Portfolio while providing essential services to the citizens of Colorado Springs in an atmosphere that encourages your ideas and contributions, then this may be the job for you Typical responsibilities include: + Collecting, researching, and forming documentation, systems, projects, processes, and resources that inform strategic decisions + Analytical skills to assess errors and variances to reconcile commodity transaction discrepancies with counterparties and energy markets, as well as manage disputes + Understand and remain knowledgeable of developments in regulations, laws, tariffs, and market protocols applicable to energy trading functions + Establish a solid understanding of energy trade capture software, such as Allegro, PCI, and Microsoft Suite + Improving continuity and auditability of back office communications, procedures, and tools + Validate settlement statements for a given operating period.
