MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.SummaryThe primary responsibility of the AVP of Regulatory Reporting is to prepare assigned regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and instructions from regulatory authorities, which requires in-depth knowledge of financial accounting and regulatory reporting, as well as understanding of the financial industry.Client DetailsLeading Investment bank with offices based in MidtownDescriptionThe primary responsibility of the position is to prepare assigned regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and instructions from regulatory authorities, which requires in-depth knowledge of financial accounting and regulatory reporting, as well as understanding of the financial industry.Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual and ad-hoc regulatory reports including, but not limited to, Federal Reserve reports (e.g. FR Y-15, FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FFIEC 009, FFIEC 031, FFIEC 002, FR2644, and FR2900), Department of Treasury reports (TIC Reports), and Department of Commerce reports (e.g. BE-605, BE-15, and BE-125)Reconcile reporting data and perform variance analysisEnsure that changes in the reporting instructions made by the regulatory authorities are incorporated within the reports submittedCalculate Risk Weighted Assets under US Basel III standardized approach across all legal entities under the BHCCoordinate with multiple stakeholders across organizationSupport management and team membersPrepare assigned reports to regulatory authorities with accurate financial information and in a timely manner, and maintain back-up supporting documentsPrepare variance analysis for reports assigned, and understand the background of figures changedMaintain up-to-date knowledge of financial/regulatory reporting requirements, as well as pertinent accounting standard changes within the regulatory reporting framework, and propose solutions as neededInteract with management, and various regulators for inquiries and surveysPromote assigned tasks and projects with minimum supervisionProvide back-up support to other staff members, and train junior staff as neededPerform other duties as assignedProfileThe AVP of Regulatory Reporting will have experience within regulatory reporting at a global investment bank and knowledge of accounting requirements strongly preferredIn-depth understanding of banking regulatory reporting rules and regulationsWell-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, aligned with excellent attention to detail and time managementBachelor''s degreeKnowledge of regulatory reporting, including calculation of Risk Weighted Assets under the US Basel III Standardized ApproachIntermediate knowledge of financial products (e.g. loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, money market products, repos etc.)Minimum 5 years of experience in product control, financial accounting, regulatory reporting area or Big 4 Accounting firm, experiences in banking is requiredExperience in regulatory reporting automation project is a plusUS CPA, CFA or equivalent license is preferred Authorised to work in the USJob OfferAttractive base and bonusOpportunity to work in New York City or Jacksonville FloridaExciting projects to get involved inExcellent benefits
