The trader will help facilitate the daily investment process for the U.S. money market fund platform managed by J.P. Morgan Global Liquidity (GL). This is a front-office, market-based role at J.P. Morgan Asset Management involving close collaboration with GL''s portfolio managers, trade execution for the full spectrum of taxable and tax-exempt money market instruments, and daily interaction with external trading counterparties including banks and broker-dealers. The position requires a strong interest in both U.S. and global fixed income markets, strong interpersonal and technical skills, keen attention to detail, and comfort with making decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Morgan Global Liquidity is one of the largest managers of institutional money market funds in the world, with dedicated investment professionals located around the globe. GL offers best-in-class investment solutions that span a broad range of currencies, risk levels and durations, designed to meet our clients'' specific operating, reserve, and strategic cash management needs. GL''s product lineup includes both U.S-domiciled and offshore money market funds available in eight currencies, as well as ultra-short-term fixed income funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs). Today, GL manages approximately $850 billion in short-term fixed income client assets, with roughly $700 billion in money market mutual funds and liquidity-focused SMAs. Responsibilities: Facilitate all aspects of the daily investment process for GL''s U.S. money market mutual funds and liquid SMAs. Execute trades in the overnight repurchase agreement (repo), time deposit, and commercial paper markets to fully-invest available fund liquidity. Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to help formulate investment strategy, communicate market intelligence, monitor available cash positions in the funds, and ensure the timely settlement of daily trade activity. Drive efficiencies and innovation in the trading process through close collaboration with partners in technology, middle-office, and other internal support teams. Participate in periodic meetings and calls with GL clients to share market updates and communicate investment themes. Write periodic market commentary for use by internal parties and publication on GL websites. Develop and maintain relationships with the full range of GL trading counterparties to support GL''s trade execution, access to liquidity, and idea generation. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in finance or with the markets Bachelor''s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience trading money market instruments preferred but not required. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment. Keen attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Bloomberg, TradeWeb, and proficiency with Excel a plus. Ability to collaborate effectively within a closely-knit team of seasoned investment professionals.
