JOB SUMMARY MLB's International Business Operations Team is seeking someone to support the day-to-day operation of the department, with main responsibility to support the Home Run Derby X program of events. Support will also be provided on other events and projects led by the International Business Operations Team. The position is based in MLB's New York office, with full-time commitment for 11-months. The candidate is expected to be present in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Support project management of all Home Run Derby X program activities Contribute to the planning and execution of Home Run Derby X events. Support relationship management with various internal and external stakeholders, partners, representatives, and vendors. Assistant on administrative tasks related to invoices, contracts, financial monitoring, key document filing, and general research. Support the planning and delivery of the travel and accommodation function of the Home Run Derby X function, including liaising with hotels, travel providers, MLB staff and Home Run Derby X players to manage their itineraries. Provide general administrative assistance to the International Business Operations Team. Travel on site to support event operations (if requested) Other projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Minimum bachelor's degree Oral and written proficiency in English (Spanish is a plus) Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Slides Demonstrate strong communication skills, and excellence in detail orientation and organization. Prior experience working in professional sports and/or event operations is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of basic rules (minimum) and culture of baseball preferred. Ability to travel to event locations domestically and internationally (if requested) Interest in pursuing a career in event planning and delivery Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $20.00 to $23.00.
