Description Amazon is seeking a highly analytical and resourceful Finance Manager to support our Inbound supply chain network. In this role, you will drive profitability and customer experience by directly impacting the development, planning, and execution of our Inbound supply chain network. The role will require quickly learning and fully grasping the business's economics to understand the big picture, gaining proficiency in our data to capture the right details, and communicating clearly and succinctly to effectively partner with business leaders and influence decisions. This person understands the Retail /WePay business inside and out. Establishes points-of-contact within Retail and Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) finance orgs, as well as the third party procurement team in order to create a mechanism to understand the Whys. This person will deep dive weekly variances vs forecast and vs prior week and will keep a common thread on the stories. They will contribute to the rolling outlook that can be used as a starting point for all forecasts. They will own the entitlements process for Retail and will meet with program managers at least monthly to understand progress. Based on their knowledge of the space they will bring up ideas for new entitlements. They will coordinate with their manager and team mate to make sure stories make sense across Retail and FBA and across Key Performance Indicators (KPI). They will own structuring and building out the detailed model so that we can have more insight into the WHATs and will work with BI as needed to have our model automated and included in a dashboard. You can root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs in their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed Provide level-headed guidance during unexpected events Proven expertise managing, evaluating, analyzing large data quickly to create meaningful business reporting Ability to self-start and create direction in a rapidly changing and often ambiguous environment Key job responsibilities Partnering with Senior Managers and Directors to drive strategic initiatives and long term success Creating, improving, and maintaining business/financial metrics, reports and reviews Communicating financial and business results including variance analyses to senior business leaders Creating, improving, and maintaining financial models Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks that inform business improvement Oversee team responsible for reporting of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and operational performance metrics, including financial commentary Help the company have clear visibility on the end to end Inbound supply chain starting from the vendor through the final storage location. About the team The Inbound Transportation Finance Team is responsible for controlling the consolidated P&L that comprises of Imports, Domestic Inbound, and Transfers and is responsible for getting inventory from Vendors to Fulfillment Centers (FCs) as well as moving inventory within the FC network in a cost efficient and timely manner. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, USA Bellevue, WA, USA Dallas, TX, USA Nashville, TN, USA New York, NY, USA Basic Qualifications BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) 5+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience Preferred Qualifications MBA, or CPA 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience 6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
