Job description - HSBC Global Fixed Income Research is looking for a rates analyst. The role will involve maintaining and developing analytical tools & models for US bond markets and providing supporting analysis for the Global Head of Fixed Income. Responsibilities Provide on ground support for the Global Head of Fixed Income in maintaining the US rates call Produce macro thematic views and trade ideas for global institutional investors and corporate clients Monitor, maintain and develop fixed income research models and databases Manage internal and external client requests in a proficient, timely and compliant manner Maintain and build the HSBC brand through regular research publications and client marketing Participate in regular research, trading and sales internal meetings. For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $100,000 and $110,000. The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Bachelor's degree and above in Finance, Economics, Maths or Engineering Minimum 2 years' work experience within rates research or fixed income portfolio management on the sell or buy side Good understanding of macroeconomic, fixed income and interest rate analysis Strong knowledge of bond math and quantitative techniques with good exposure to VBA based modelling / R, Python and Excel programming Excellent knowledge of financial databases - Bloomberg Excellent written and communication skills Candidates who are CFA Charter holders or pursuing CFA will be preferred.
