Job Description Job DescriptionThe Arts Council of Princeton's Education Assistant is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The Education Assistant reports to the Education & Outreach Manager and is responsible for coordination and oversight of the education and outreach program as directed by the Education & Outreach Manager. Tentative Start Date: June 5, 2024 Regular Hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 10-6pm, Friday, 9:00 - 5:00pm, Saturdays 8:30-4:30pm. Other exceptions may occur on occasion. Summer Hours [June 17-August 30]: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm Preferred Experience: Interest in Arts Education Experience working with children Self-starter, self-motivator Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Adobe Photoshop, database management, (experience with Art Center Canvas a plus) Detail oriented, team player, ability to work well under pressure Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Associate or Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Experience working in the arts field or nonprofit arts organization (preferred) Fluency in Spanish (preferred) Job Responsibilities: Front of House (front desk): greet the public, check in students, answer the phone, and field inquiries about the organization and its programs; Sitting at the front desk and greeting visitors to the building as needed; Registrations - paper, phone and change requests, answering emails, and inputting registration information into Art Center Canvas, including for scholarships & adapted arts classes; Provide clerical support for class enrollment; customer service for class registration and other programs as needed; Correspondence with parents/students when needed; Assist the Education & Outreach Manager in developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing class and workshop programs through preparation of class descriptions, photos and other documentation for programs to be posted on the ACP website; Track registration and data for all community outreach programs including Arts Exchange, Afterschool Art Club, Princeton Nursery School, Princeton Young Achievers, Pride Art Club, Creative Aging, Adapted Arts, and all Arts in Healthcare Programs, and report back to Education & Outreach Manager; Supervising volunteers and interns working in education and outreach program areas; Assisting with class & camp sign in and dismissal, and lunchtime, snack & break supervision of children as needed; Order and maintain supplies for education and outreach programming as needed; Set up and tidy studios as needed; Assist with the preparation of marketing and press materials for use in brochures, press releases, on website and for other publicity efforts, in cooperation with ACP staff; As outlined above, there will be occasions where you will be asked to work outside the days and times outlined above to provide program supervision on nights and weekends for special events, programs or festivals as needed by Education & Outreach Manager; Provide general staffing assistance for events and programs as assigned; Responsible for opening and closing facility as needed, including evenings and weekends; Additional duties as assigned by the Education & Outreach Manager Benefits Salary - $37,500 starting Paid time off - Including Vacation, Sick and Personal Time Medical & Dental - Employee coverage available ACP Membership - Discounts at participating businesses Free or Discounted Classes - Available to employee and immediate family members Company DescriptionFounded in 1967, the Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) is a non-profit organization with a mission of Building Community Through the Arts.
