The candidate must be able to develop shop drawings for field installation based on designed contract documents and the New York City Electrical Code. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develop overhead conduit racks (power and communication)Develop Power Distribution Risers from contract documentsValue engineeringDevelop power and lighting circuitry shop drawingsDevelop Fire Alarm Systems shop drawingsSwitchboard and electric closet layout with proper New York City Code clearance requirementsPerform 3D coordination and collision detection (BIM) at job site using NavisworksElectrical Load CalculationsField survey construction sites before and during construction phases as requiredCommunicate with field personnel on installation shop drawingsRegularly commute to field locationsPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE3-10 years experience, with a degree in electrical engineeringKnowledge of the New York City Electrical CodeProven experience performing basic engineering including voltage drops, conduit sizing, cable derating, load calculations, overcurrent protection calculationsDemonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and NavisWorksExperience with Revit is a plusDirect experience with Microsoft Office ApplicationsPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, hear, climb stairs, and work in sometimes noisy and dusty work environments.
