Job Description BAE Systems is seeking two full-time Systems Engineers to be a part of our Integration team working on the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System. The selected candidate will work closely with numerous internal BAE Systems functional engineering teams and directly with our US Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Customer.For over 60 years, BAE Systems has served as the sole-source Weapons System Integration Agent for the U.S. Navy''s Strategic Systems Program office. As the premier strategic deterrent integration expert, BAE Systems partners with various technical branches and industry partner OEMs across SSP to define, plan, and execute systems engineering, integration, and verification activities related to the deployment of existing and future weapon systems on submarine platforms. Our primary function is to implement and oversee the end-to-end Systems Engineering process including: System Definition, Integration, Verification, Validation, and Certification, as well as System Operation & Maintenance. The selected candidate will serve as a System Engineer reporting to the Weapons Integrator in the Flight Systems area. Tasking includes: * Interfacing with Navy customers on a routine basis to provide technical Systems Engineering (SE) analysis in support of execution and planning Flight System evolutions* Leading, presenting at, and/or attending external meetings with customers and industry partners at a variety of DoD, DOE, and contractor host sites* Tracking internal functional engineering activities across multiple engineering teams to ensure compliance with defined SE processes, government policies/requirements, and Model Bases Systems Engineering (MBSE) guidelines * Identifying and overseeing technical, cost, and schedule risks/opportunities then creating mitigation/exploitation plans to facilitate program execution* Supporting customers with planning and conduct of model-based system-level design reviews to include ensuring entrance and exit criteria are tailored to the specific programmatic needs, supporting creation of model-based artifacts, as well as tracking outstanding actions / leans to completed design reviews* Leading technical studies/analyses/deep dives and providing solutions/recommendations to customers* Recommending and implementing process improvements by both leveraging former and authoring new lessons learned Required Education, Experience, & Skills * BS Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field and four (4) years of work experience, or MS Degree and two (2) years of work experience* US citizen* Ability to acquire a DoD TS clearance * Experience with Systems Engineering processes for a System-of-Systems * Experience performing technical analyses, studies, presentations, and customer-facing activities* Desire to learn about various weapon system subsystems and their interactions as affects the overall System* Familiarity with and high level understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering such as Cameo/SysML and DOORS Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * A BS Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, or MS Degree with a minimum of four (4) years'' relevant experience. * Active DoD Secret or DOE L clearance, able to upgrade to DoD Top Secret and/or DOE Q* Degree(s) in Systems Engineering* Knowledge of the SWS Architecture and/or knowledge of SWS Flight Systems* Experience with end-to-end SE lifecycles and milestone reviews* Experience with DoD enterprise specifically relating to strategic systems * Direct Model Based Systems Engineering experience including Cameo/SysML and DOORS* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification* Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) INCOSE certification* OMG Systems Modeling Certification(s) (OCSMP)* Knowledge of PTC Windchill applications or other similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software* Experience performing modeling and simulation with MatLab, Simulink, and/or ModelCenter About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, an international defense, aerospace and security company which delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.
